When I journey back 30 years and imagine myself in 1987, I can’t believe I didn’t have a cell phone. Or public internet access. Or hundreds of channels at my disposal. And if you think about it, an entirely new vocabulary permeates our discussions today. With words like SnapChat, vlogging, YouTubers and Instagram, we’re having conversations that would have been nonsensical 30 years ago.
It’s mind boggling to realize the advancements that have been made and how far society has come in our ability to enjoy, enhance and improve our lives with technology.
And when I think of AccessData celebrating our 30th anniversary this year, the changes are even more staggering. Our company started with the creation of WR Pass, a decryption application that cracks forgotten file passwords. At its time, it was completely unique and the first of its kind. And as our company has moved forward throughout the decades, our innovation continued. First with FTK – the industry standard tool for forensics investigations, and then our development of AD Lab, the premier litigation support and legal review platform.
At our core, we’ve always believed that what we do matters – we help lock up the bad guys and make companies around the world safer, more protected and more effective.
And behind this idea of protecting business and society at large, are all of our people. I’m so proud to be a part of the global network of teams who make up the fabric of our company. From engineers and product developers who are always seeking out ways to help you do more with data, to sales teams who want to partner with our customers to make their companies the best they can be, our people are the heart and soul of AccessData and have been since day one.
It’s comforting to know that no matter what advancements occur or how society is changed through information and technology, the fundamentals of what connect us are the same – trust, open communication, honesty, commitment and sharing mutual goals. These ideals transcend the decades and will be what drives us for 30 more years and beyond.
