ACE Process
The new ACE Certification process will still consist of the KBA and PBA. In the new process, however, Part 1 and Part 2 will be combined into a single testing day called the “1-Day ACE Certification.”

 

All candidates will be required to attend the 1-Day ACE Certification, which will follow the outline below. 

10:00am – 10:30am       Registration

10:30am – 12:00pm       Online KBA (new format)

12:00pm – 1:00pm         Lunch

1:00pm   – 5:00pm         Multiple PBA exercises

 

Please note that the ACE Pre-requisites remain the same.

 

Pre-requisites

1.       Possession of licensed copies of the Forensic Toolkit (FTK), Password Recovery Toolkit (PRTK) and Registry Viewer. (FTK Imager is obtainable without charge). Software subscription must be current when candidate begins the process.

2.       Completion of the following AccessData certified training courses after January 1, 2004:

o        AccessData BootCamp  (PSA completion may help prepare ACE candidates)

o        Windows Forensics - XP  (PSA completion may help prepare ACE candidates)

3.       Six months of forensic examination experience. Please provide a letter (written and signed by your supervisor) documenting the prerequisite six months of examination experience. The letter should be submitted on agency/organization letterhead. Your supervisor's contact information is also required so we can validate your experience.
